After putting 400 plus miles on the RANS Fusion crank forward, I was beginning to develop some knee pain. Not sure if it was just age or adjustment, I continued to make some position adjustment on the seat of the RANS trying to work it out. I was enjoying riding the RANS, especially the ability to place both feet on the ground while at a stop.
Then a few days ago, I was doing some clean up work on the Surly and decided to give it a go. It had been a few month since I had done that. What a surprise... my knee pain did not happen. In fact, the pain in both knees seemed to get better. After a few days of riding 10 miles at a time, the knees were feeling much better. Interesting in that the Surly e-bike setup is set up with a much less pedal assist than the RANS.
I am not sure what the issue is, but for now, I am spending time riding the Surly. I do really enjoy the Surly setup. What a great bicycle... and I have about 3,400 plus miles on the E-Bike conversion of the Surly LHT (25,000 ish miles on the bicycle in total... Thanks Surly!
